EARTH AWAKE

The Phönix

31 October, 2021, Samhain MythDance

There comes a time

When it seems that all is lost.

Yet if we are lucky,

We choose to offer ourselves

To the Temple of the Sun,

And that One-Song

Of the Fire

Spins its orange flames

Into a web of change,

Whispering in its Fire-Speak,

“Pour your songs upon these lands,

Child;

Sweep the dust from your mind;

Line paths of all kinds

With red and golden feathers,

For it is time,

It is time,

It is time…

Chronos and Kairos align,

Sitting at my Fire out-of-time,

Laughing and asking questions like,

‘What if you knew when you would die?

What if your head touched the ground

And your feet walked on sky?

What if Paradise already shines

Deep in the glass-water well

At the Heart of mankind?’

What is Wise

Cannot be destroyed, Dear One,

Yet

Something new will arise,

Something that Was-Not-Before.”

The Fire dies;

Ash covers its eyes.

Three days pass…

And all of the questions we have asked

Melt into

That

Silence

Suddenly, the Wheel of Sun rises

Into ruby and sapphire skies,

And we also rise from the ashes,

Celebrating together

New Life.

The Ugly Duckling

30 May, 2021

It is in our nature

To emerge from the egg,

To crack through the sharp shells

Life's initiation had made

It is in our nature

To expand beyond our selves -

Leaving behind the cocoons

And the confinement we felt

It is in our nature

To be birthed to new worlds,

To face the unexpected Truths

Of our vast wings, unfurled

Here,

Who are you?

Come to this gateway, Dear One,

Face to face with the pregnant Unknown,

Until brother swan breaks the silence,

And your Heart's chant calls you home

Come to this gateway, Dear One,

Of all you have known

And let the Dark Goddess show you

How to weave shadows with gold

Come to this gateway, Dear One,

Where the simple wind sings,

“...everything is fine.

Let go and spread your wings.”

Let yourself be carried, Dear One,

Across desert's sun-dried stories,

And let yourself be lifted

To fly with All of Life's glory

Here,

Who are we?

As Living Earth,

We walk with All of our Relations

We walk with the Water and Fire,

And with the Heart-Breath of the Spiral,

We root deep and rise higher

Baubo

Full Moon MythDance 25 April, 2021

We stripped off

The skin of our Innocence,

To dive into

The Initiation…

We bit into

The contrast

Of Life and Death.

Yet Baubo

Pressed her own breasts

Against our shadows

And let the milk

Of laughter

Flow

The subtle energies of the Great Below

Kissed us,

Infused us,

Or knocked us on the head

Until we could not refuse any longer

And the stories of the past

Melted into rainbows

And the holes

We once dug

With our own hands

The land laughed,

For in the letting-go,

Something was remembered

Something of ecstasy…

It was the undressed Mystery

She showed

When she opened her legs

And spoke

This language of stars and

Nested eggs and

Bones

We listened…

But the words were

Devoured by black holes,

And only her belly laughter

Remained

Shaking loose

Our pain,

Shaking awake

The Keeper of the Flame,

Shaking free

Your own laughter

And the playfulness

To pray

The Selkie Woman
Sealskin, Soulskin

Spring Equinox Full Moon MythDance 20 March, 2021

The call home will always reach you.

Even in the drone of distraction,

Even in the deafening moan

Of silent stones

We tied ourselves to, long ago…

The call home will always reach you.

Perhaps the call comes in the

Dark Unknown

Or in the seeds who disrobe

To bathe in the light of golden growth

We discover, now, what forms

Had been sown in that

Dark, Sunlit Below…

And what is shown,

It is

ALIVE

The red sun spills

All prophecies

Into the flow

Of silver tides

And brides of Fire and Water,

Who once mourned the loss

Of their wild home,

Find the origin of beauty in their own

Song

Give

This

Voice.

Sing with the sisters;

Sing with the brothers

Sing with the winged ones;

Sing with the lovers

Sing with the Selkies

And all of the others

Sing with all of those

Who believed they walked alone,

For the call home will always reach you.

And when it does, Dear One,

May your Living Soul teach you

The Birth of Lakshmi

Full Moon MythDance 27 and 28 February, 2021

Have you chosen to unleash the powers

Of your deepest waters, my Dear?

Have you groped through the dark mists,

Drank the poison of your

Rage,

Confusion,

Grief, and

Fear?

Do you believe in the bridge

Beyond that last, fading glow of hope,

As sweet nectar's fragrance

Lifts your gaze

From the heavy work of the churning rope?

Back and forth,

Back and forth

Heavy darkness and clear light

Did part

Those oceanic waves

Opening closing,

Opening closing,

Doors of the Serpent's Temple

Welcomed us into living grace

Turning, turning

We kept turning, turning

As the births and deaths of infinite lives

Brought us before the Beloved's uncovered face

Staring, silent into that

Center of Stillness

Retrace the curve

Of your lover's

Blue throat,

Dear One

Press your palms into Earth

As you offer your last, dying tone

Yes, She rises...

Let the lotus blossom unfold,

Tender,

Breaking open in lightness

Of surrender

Will you drink from this nectar with me,

And in laughter, remember

The Amrit...
